Nestled in the heart of Orient Bay Village and within an easy 2 minute walk to one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean, you'll discover one of the newest "best kept secrets" of St. Martin... the "new" Palm Court Hotel. Surrounded by mature, lush tropical gardens with banana plants, coconut palms and other tropical flora you'll experience an authentic Caribbean ambiance with a vibrant Moroccan twist! You will instantly feel at home as you are greeted by some of the nicest, most helpful staff on the island.
Palm Court Hotel in French St Martin has just 24 charming yet spacious junior suites all tastefully furnished in Moroccan colors and decor. Most of the rooms have king size beds, some having two double beds, a sitting area, fully equipped kitchenette, a private terrace or balcony with views to the gardens. All rooms have air conditioning, safe, direct dial telephone and satellite TV. Standard Rooms are located on the 1st floor, Superior Rooms are located on the 2nd floor, and Deluxe Rooms are located on the top floor. The hotel offers 2 rooms accessible to disabled people, both located on the 1st floor.
In the unlikely event of you ever tiring of the glorious white sand of Orient Beach, you can always head for the new swimming pool with comfortable lounge chairs and hammocks. And by the way, please don't let Orient Beach - a clothing optional beach - intimidate you. Orient Beach is more of a family beach than anything else. While there is a nudist resort at one end of the beach, most of our guests in the Orient Village area where Palm Court is, will keep their suites on. Some Europeans will go topless, but total nudity is, for the most part, kept at the southern end of the beach.
Rates include free beach towels, complimentary Chaise Lounges and umbrellas at La Playa on Orient Beach. Complimentary WIFI is available in the lobby and pool areas. Baby-sitting services available at extra charge.
Parking is free, but as there is a 100 foot path to the reception desk from the parking lot, one car space may be reserved for disabled guests upon request. Getting around the area surrounding is quite easy.
All the water sports imaginable are available on Orient Beach... Windsurfing, kite surfing, hobie cat, sea-kayak, Diving, Jet ski, parasailing and much more ... Tennis courts are 100m from the hotel
The beach is a 2 mile stretch of soft white sand with views to the island of Pinel, Green Cay and Tintamarre. The Creole Village in front of your hotel will charm you with its colourful houses. Boutiques, restaurants, fine grocery, hairdressers, fitness center can all be found here. Around the fountain you may relax with a glass of pastis watching the typical French game of Pétanque. This is truly a touch of the French Riviera.

MYBA ST MAARTEN CHARTER SHOW 2009 : Trades Association (SMMTA), will from now on be known as the MYBA St. Maarten Charter Show. This year's show will take place in Sint Maarten from 6-9 December 2008 inclusive. This acquisition will allow MYBA to offer charter brokers a winter charter show, run specifically with their best interests in mind, as well as those of their fleets, owners, captains and crews.
Both organizations are committed to bringing the same standards and quality which has become synonymous with the MYBA sister show in Genoa while at the same time preserving the Caribbean flair and excitement of Sint Maarten.
Right from its opening ceremony on the 16th, the mood will be glowing. There will be queen and teen shows to set the tempo afloat. There is loads of skin on display and the best is crowned the queen in different age groups. That is just the start. The
22nd and 23rd are days meant for youthful brashness. They will dance and carouse and have the entire stage set for them to call the shots. It is only on 24th that girls invade and how! Then the show will take a breather and get a bit sedate till 28th. Then it returns with full swing and a sea of floating bodies in all colors. J’ouvert shows are meant to be just that. And they drive you crazy. .
30th and 1st are slated for Grand parade and Labors Day Parade. There will be ear splitting music and lots of dance on and off the streets. Final two days are what define the carnival.
On Saturday the 2nd, Soca will be soaking the entire St. Maarten in its deafening sounds. The socaphiles have their own of enjoying the nights. The flourishing attendance will have no moment of boredom as they negotiate the carnival.
The final day (4th May) will takes the cake with lovers’ celebration expected in full speed. There will be lots of kissing seen as proposals bounce from one end to other. The feeling will take long to sink in.
