Sewer Pipes Being Laid on Blvd de Grand Case

In a move which doubtless has left French side restaurateurs located in Grand Case bewildered, exasperated, and more, the French side is now digging trenches and burying new sewer pipes under the main drag there, Boulevard de Grand Case, closing much of the Boulevard to traffic.

Since the lockdown on the French side lasted several weeks and killed the end of high season, the sewer pipe exercise could hardly come at a worse time for GC business owners. With tourism apparently on the verge of reopening, tourists won't immediately be able to use Boulevard de Grand Case as the pipe laying activity continues for the next few weeks.

"Some restaurateurs are probably thinking about how refreshing it would be to simply take a long walk off a short pier at this point," one journalist said to us. It seems logical to assume that the work could've been deferred to low season, when many Grand Case Restaurateurs are closed; but no, that's not what happened.
