East Flights Between MNI and SXM

The new service will offer twice-weekly flights:

• Fridays: Departing St. Maarten's Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM) at 11:00 a.m., arriving in Montserrat's John A. Osborne / Gerald's Airport (MNI) at 12:00 noon; return flight departs Montserrat at 12:25 p.m.
• Sundays: Departing SXM at 8:30 a.m., arriving at MNI at 9:30 a.m.; return flight departs MNI at 9:55 a.m.

Tickets became available for purchase on May 1, 2025, through Winair's website and authorized travel agents. One-way fares are priced at USD $148.23 (EC $402.73), while round-trip tickets cost USD $260.11 (EC $706.70), inclusive of taxes. 

Premier Reuben T. Meade highlighted the significance of this initiative, emphasizing its role in Montserrat's economic revitalization. He noted that re-establishing the St. Maarten gateway is strategic for enhancing access, especially through Winair's interline partnerships with major airlines across the US, UK, and the Caribbean.

In anticipation of increased demand, particularly during peak travel months in December and March, the flight schedule may be expanded. Plans include adding Antigua as a supplementary stop to accommodate holiday and festival travelers.

Economic Implications for St. Maarten

The introduction of these flights is poised to positively impact St. Maarten's economy. As a central hub in the Caribbean, enhanced connectivity reinforces its position as a pivotal transit point. The increased air traffic is expected to boost the tourism sector, as travelers from Montserrat and connecting regions gain easier access to St. Maarten's attractions, accommodations, and cultural experiences.
